U11 Titans Baseball, Spring Heat Tournament, Racine WI, May 15-16,
2010
Tournament Summary:
The Burlington U11 Titans baseball team took 2nd place in the Spring
Heat tournament held May 15-16, 2010, in Racine, WI. The Titans swept
their first three games 19-1 vs. Racine Calvary, 10-2 vs. Victory Baseball,
and 9-2 vs. Briarcliff Blazers, before falling to a well-rested Milwaukee
Boss team 1-14 in the championship game to claim 2nd place in the
tournament out of 10 teams entered. Good first 2010 tournament against
some very good tournament teams.
Individual Game Highlights:
Game 1: Win. Burlington Titans 19 vs. Racine Calvary 1 (in 3 innings)
Excellent pitching performances with zero hits allowed by Ben Golon (2
IP) and Dale Damon (1 IP). Good defense in the field.
Titans recorded 17 hits in just 3 innings with many RBIs and the whole
roster scored runs.

Damon (2 IP). Titans needed to hold the Blazers under 6 runs to break a
tie with 3-0 McHenry to earn the right to advance to the championship
round, so clutch defense and pitching answered the call.

Championship Game: Loss to claim 2nd place out of 10 teams in the
tournament. Burlington Titans 1 vs. Milwaukee BOSS 14 (in 3 innings)
The Titans, playing back-to-back, committed 5 errors on defense, starting
pitching was plagued by a tight strike zone, and offense was chilled
recording only 1 hit (Wegge single) vs. well-rested talented BOSS
competition. Good first tournament against some very good tournament
teams.
