The Little League program has another great way for area business' to make a difference
and sponsor the little league program through the implementation of  Web Banner Ads
like the one below.  The design of the banner ad is donated by ReSolutions Photography,
allowing 100% of the donation to go directly to the Little League program. Email Kelley or
call (262)424-5715 if you are interested in placing a banner ad on our website.  Also, if
your business has a website, a link will be placed on the sign, directing traffic to your
website.

Letter from your President
On July 26th, 2008 The Little League honored  volunteers and sponsors at the annual season
ending celebration “All Star Day” and established a Volunteer Hall of Fame, and a Sponsor Hall
of Fame. Burlington Little League Hall of Fame was established previously. Each year
individuals will be recognized and placed in the Hall of Fame for their respective
accomplishments and contributions to the Burlington Little League.

To kick off the 2008 season, the new Burlington Little League practice facility was dedicated to
Rollie Bauman, Hall of Fame member and Burlington Little League Historian.  Appropriately, the
“Rollie Bauman Practice Pavilion” will house the History , Hall of Fame member
acknowledgements and memorabilia.
Kelley is working to establish Little League memorabilia and history. If you have any information,
or memorabilia, trophies, etc.
Please contact Kelley at 262-424-5715 or email kelley @bllbaseball.com

Honorees this year included:
Dr. Lief Erickson, Sr – co founder of the Burlington Little League 1958, Original Manager of the
“Whiz Kids” team – the only original team still in existence
Paul and Rhonda Sullivan – LaVelle – long time sponsors
The Winkler Family – Sentry – Sponsors since 1960
Dairy Queen – in 1960 the first Burlington Little League Fund Raiser was held; tickets for Ice
Cream Sundaes were sold.
Reinemans – team sponsor since 1959
Bill Branen – Hall of Fame member, Bill Branen was largely responsible for the establishment
of Branen Field in Burlington. He started as a Little League coach in 1964 for the Montgomery
Ward team. In 1974, when Montgomery Ward dropped sponsorship, the name of the team was
changed to the “Minis” … for the Standard Press Mini weekend newspaper. Branen was the
publisher of several Wisconsin newspapers, including the Burlington Standard Press.

When the Burlington Little League was established in 1958, there were 40 players, in 1968
there were 350 registered players, and the 2008 season was 530 players strong!

There are numerous volunteers; sponsors, coaches, parents and board members that make
this youth program a success.

The Burlington Little League is a non profit organization, administered, organized and funded
by volunteers and sponsors.  Without all of them, it would cease to exist.
